Betty li

Betty Li is an incoming freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, where she plans to double major in Economics and Political Science.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and the daughter of Chinese immigrants, Betty is deeply passionate about public speaking, communication, and harnessing the power of her voice to drive meaningful change. In high school, she was actively involved in Model United Nations, earning 10 Best Delegate awards at conferences such as CWMUN and FWWMUN, both sponsored by the United Nations and attended by over 7,000 delegates from more than 60 countries. She also participated in several science fairs and symposiums, earning two first-place awards and recognition for Best Oral Presentation.

Betty is currently working at a law firm and is excited to serve as an instructor at GYLO, where she looks forward to helping youth engage with critical global issues like water scarcity, climate inequity, and more.
